We finally bough a digital camera. This is a great excuse to go back to places like Akaroa. Marisa has photographed everything and anything. She has read the manual twice. I think she is quite taken with this little camera.
For anyone who is interested we bought a Fuji Finepix s3000.
I took this picture of a cat outside the Sign of the Takehe restaurant because I finally managed to get a turn on the camera (while Marisa was distracted) and the cat was the nearest subject.
We went to the lookout on Dyers Pass road but it was raining so we couldn't see the mountains to photograph.
Maria spent the afternoon photographing her jewellry.

Again its raining. We went for a walk along the beach and took some photographs. There are some lovely beach areas here but so far we've found it's usually too cold to swim.

One of the wonderful advantages of New Zealand over Australia is the lack of lethal wildlife. There are no deadly spiders, snakes or crocodiles. Apparently there are also no sharks. The reason for this is that sharks don't like frozen food so there is nothing for them to eat in New Zealand waters.
