Ahh, spring in Christchurch!

Christchurch is known in New Zealand as the garden city. Spring is a real treat (unless you're asthmatic). Every breeze stirs eddies of fallen blossom along the streets and every corner is a collage of colour.
These pictures were taken in Hagley Park. If you click on the first picture you can see a couple punting on the Avon river (really a stream) through Hagley Park.

Today Canterbury takes a day off and goes to the show. The Canterbury show is still very much an agricultural show. There are only a few rides for kids and I didn't see a showbag for sale anywhere. The photos above will give you a little sample.
